    “When You’re Not Here” begins with a simple question: how can the world continue as if nothing has changed when someone’s absence changes everything?

    Built around acoustic guitar and a restrained, intimate arrangement, the song explores the quiet disorientation of missing someone. Rooms remain standing, days keep moving and the lights still shine, yet even the most familiar things feel different. What begins as a reflection on absence gradually becomes something deeper: a search for identity, and for the part of ourselves that is shaped through loving another person.

    The song deliberately leaves the nature of that absence undefined. It may be distance, separation, loss or simply the silence left behind when someone is no longer beside us. Its conclusion offers no easy answer, but a gentle realization: love does not disappear when a person leaves. It remains in what they helped us discover, in who we have become, and in the part of them that quietly continues to walk with us.
